Speak it, Keep it ("the app") is built to keep your words private. This policy explains what the app accesses and where your data lives.

Data the app uses

Microphone and audio. When you record, the app captures audio from your microphone. Recordings are saved as files on your device.
Contacts (optional). If you choose to link a note to a contact, the app reads that contact's name and photo so it can display them. This only happens for contacts you pick.
Your notes. Transcripts, reports, daily insights, and tags you create are stored by the app.

Where your data stays

On your device. Recording, transcription, summarising, and coaching run on your iPhone. We do not operate a server, and we do not receive your audio, transcripts, or notes.
Your own private iCloud (optional). If you turn on "Sync with iCloud", the app mirrors your notes and audio to your own private iCloud database so they come back if you reinstall. This data is stored in your Apple Account, not ours. You can turn this off at any time in the app's Settings.
We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data.

Transcription and AI

Speech-to-text and the AI features (reports, daily insights, and coaching) run on your device using Apple's on-device models. If a future version uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute, that feature will be optional, will require an internet connection, and is covered by Apple's privacy protections; the app falls back to on-device processing when it is not available.

Third parties

The app includes no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and it does not share your data with third parties.

Contacts: Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts → Speak it, Keep it
iCloud sync: Settings inside the app → Data & Backup
App lock: optional Face ID / Touch ID lock inside the app

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
